FINAL STATEMENT OF THE YIRA COMMUNITY TO THE 10th INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CONFERENCE YIRA "RUWENZORI 2017" The Yira Community (alias Nande) from all over the world met in the General Assembly at the 10th International Cultural, Economic and Social Conference Yira "Ruwenzori 2017" in Kasindi - Lubiriha from 05 to 13 August 2017 to deal with community issues. After the incident of attempted sabotage by the Territorial Authority and the forced disenchantment of the participants, the Conference finally stabilized and proceeded in five phases, namely: 1) Preparation; 2) Plenaries and the Caravan in Kasindi; 3) Work in Commission in Kasindi; and 4) The Cultural Council in Butembo. At the end of the meeting, the Conference drafted a Minutes, made recommendations to the Vyaghanda and the members, but also the present Final Communiqué. The Community criticizes the attitude of the local, provincial and national authorities who, instead of considering Kyaghanda as a partner in security, economic and socio-cultural stabilization, trafficked the enemy until mobilizing arms and armies against a people The most peaceful, in a cultural event; And asks each party to draw the consequences. To the members of the Community and partners who have supported us, the Conference reiterates its warm and heartfelt thanks and congratulations for its massive mobilization and its responsible attitude towards the barbarity and threat of authority that was supposed to protect us. To the International Community, the Community deplored its lack of assistance for the endangered person, finally wondering what role it still has to play in this country. The Community is worried and asks how it can hope for the liberation of our priests and other abductees and urges the authorities to assume their respective responsibilities in order to achieve this; But also for the total security of the national territory of which we would be the happiest. Through the Cultural Conference, mothers in the Community continue to condemn the acts of rape they are subjected to, the prohibition of the importation, sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, a weapon of destruction for their children; As well as other evils that gnaw at them. Despite all the storms that shake us, the Community remains faithful to its cultural values, of which peace and national and international concord remain pillars. We can not end without announcing that the foundations of the next conference will be held in Kirumba from 04 to 12 August 2018 and urge each member and each partner to be fully involved.
